Darwin Community

Dawn House is a local organisation which support individuals affected by domestic violence. They were collecting donations at the Sheridan Outlet in Darwin, so we (MGM Healthcare) contacted Dawn House to ask what they needed and how we could help. We were told about a female with children who was moving into a safe house and would need linen for the beds, so we went and purchased some bed linen for the family and instantly dropped it off to Dawn House with our best regards. The family and team at Dawn House were grateful for MGM Healthcare’s support. We are quite aware of adverse impact of domestic violence on individuals and families so were pleased that we were able to provide some comfort to the family.

We also supported providing funds for the release the Street-smart Handbook from Neighbourhood Watch program in Northern Territory. This book is practical life guide for 16- and 17-year-old school leavers that is designed to help prepare todays youth for life after school. We are happy to be part of their journey as they fall into the age group where they are looking for their identity. And they can be very vulnerable, and this guide is our gift for them to be prepared for young adulthood.

Brad’s sound company is a Darwin local music company who facilitate many events around the community throughout the year in Darwin. Music therapy is recommended by many medical professionals and the public in general to improve mental health or overall health. Brad and his team are very generous professionals equipped with musical instruments who work with diverse groups. They have been doing such an amazing job that we decided to acknowledge Brad’s Sounds Company contribution to the local community and the positive factor in improving in overall health of the Darwin community with a cash appreciation gift so he can continue his efforts.

We have sponsored breakfast during graduation ceremony for Ludus House MMA where instructor, Grant Nolan, has been training people with Brazilian Jiujitsu from different age groups and varied walks of life with for a decade now. He has stated recently training NDIS participants as well. The training boosts our both physical and mental health.

We also contribute to Ambulance Active in Northern Territory as they support paramedics. As they are the first responders to any health emergency outside of health settings. Supporting them means contributing to a positive outcome out of a health emergency.

Lawyer Vibhor Anand in Delhi, India was providing free access to oxygen concentrators to those in need. Due to Covid 19 the oxygen concentrators were scarce and comparatively more expensive than times prior. Anands efforts aligned with our vision that we want to go beyond borders and be there for everyone who need healthcare services and so we provided one oxygen concentrator to him to share with those in need.

We contribute to National Breast Cancer Foundation which is working on immunotherapy as suggested by the representative. If successful they intent to trial this treatment on other cancer types as well besides breast cancer. We feel significant to be part of the funding group which is working towards this great cause. We want to build hope among people that it’s not the end of life if we are diagnosed with cancers and there are treatments available for them.
